First Steps: Returning to The Mission Field

Updated: Jun 10

It has been five years since I last served as a full-time missionary in the Philippines. A lot has happened since then. During that time, I’ve been able to grow in my walk with God and reflect on past seasons, which I believe have prepared me for returning to the mission field.

In the past, I served under organizations such as Kids International Ministries and Mercy House. This time, however, things are a little different. I’ll be partnering with Family Ministries Philippines, which means I’ll be working alongside them in the field, but I won’t be serving as a missionary under their organization. I have a close relationship with the director, Arnold, and I’ll be helping him as he grows and develops his ministry.

The ministry site is located in Nueva Vizcaya, a mountainous region about five hours north of Manila. The village is small but steadily growing. Arnold’s vision for the community is to develop local programs that focus on both practical needs and spiritual growth—discipling the youth and raising up future leaders. Some ministries are already in place, including sports programs and Christian leadership training for young people.

Looking ahead, we hope to start feeding programs and build a learning and education center that will offer tutoring, academic support, and a small library with books in both English and Tagalog. We also hope to establish a college scholarship fund for future students. As we continue to pray and follow God’s lead, we trust that other opportunities and directions for the ministry will become clear in time.

I want to sincerely thank all of you who have supported me in the past and continue to support me today. Your prayers have meant so much—I couldn’t have done this without them before, and I still need them now. Please continue to pray for me as I prepare to return to the Philippines on August 3rd.

Thank you, and God bless.
